FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

DALLAS (October 7th, 2014)—DAC Patient Recruitment Services, an Imperial company and leader in patient recruitment and retention for global clinical trials, announces its sponsorship of SCRS Thanks the Heroes – a 5K Fun Run & Walk honoring patients who participate in clinical trials. Hosted by the Society for Clinical Research Sites (SCRS) as part of its 9th Annual Site Solutions Summit, the event is set for Sunday, October 12, from 7:05 to 8 a.m. on the grounds of the Omni Amelia Island Plantation Resort in Florida.

“We are proud to partner with SCRS for this event to celebrate individuals who give their time and efforts to help advance public health through research participation,” said Steve Swanson, DAC president and Imperial CEO. “In nine short years, the summit has evolved from a concept to a dynamic organization driving tangible change, and I look forward to many more initiatives that support continued growth.”

With a membership comprising trial sponsors, CROs and trial support service providers, SCRS is the first trade organization fully dedicated to engaging in discussions and developing action plans that advance clinical research sites and the research industry at-large.  DAC joined SCRS as a Global Impact Partner (GIP) last year with Swanson’s appointment to the SCRS GIP Board. In this capacity, he interfaces with the SCRS Leadership Council to help set strategic direction for the society and to identify the work streams most significant to the success of sites.

This year’s summit is expected to draw nearly 400 sites, more than 70 sponsors and CRO executives, and up to 40 exhibitors. The program includes 10+ hours of networking events, 10 master workshops, 40 interactive sessions, and the opportunity to earn up to 15 continuing education units.

Proceeds from SCRS Thanks the Heroes will benefit the Center for Information & Study on Clinical Research Participation (CISCRP) Medical Heroes campaign. Launched in 2008, this public service initiative seeks to transform the image of clinical research participants from “guinea pigs” to medical heroes, while raising research awareness.
